Sometimes the best way to understand childhood isn't through another list of strategies or another expert explaining what to do. Sometimes it begins with listening to someone tell the story of one child, one classroom, one conversation, or one moment that changed the way they see the world.

Making School Make Sense is a podcast hosted by educator and child development researcher Dr. Jessica N. Hawkins. Through thoughtful conversations with educators, families, researchers, specialists, authors, and people from all walks of life, each episode explores the experiences that shape childhood—and what those experiences can teach us about learning, belonging, and being human.

Whether the conversation is with an occupational therapist reflecting on a child who changed their practice, a teacher reconsidering familiar classroom routines, or someone looking back on the experiences that shaped their own childhood, every episode invites listeners to slow down, listen deeply, and see childhood through a new lens.
